In the past few weeks, I have been on the hunt for some reliable red lipsticks and glosses that won't dry my lips out but are not too sticky. My favorites thus far:
Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss ($18) in Siren: A sheer, silky cherry red. Great for daily wear and those of you who are scared of a red lip.
Nars Lipgloss ($24) in Bloodwork: The brightest, boldest red I have tried. It makes your teeth look very white, and has just the right amount of shine without being too goo-ey. Warning: This color will turn heads!
MAC Lipstick ($14) in Chili or Russian Red: These go on with full coverage and provide a fair amount of moisture for your lips. I coated mine with lipglass for a shinier effect, as sometimes MAC Lipsticks can be very matte.
MAC SlimShine Lipstick ($14.50) in Urgent!: Blew the competition away by far, my ultimate favorite. You apply it like a sexy lipstick, yet it is smooth, shiny and moisturizing without a gloss on top. Wear one coat during the day, layer it on for bolder color at night.
